Object space position in shader graph switches if multiple instanses in view

Hello!
I’m looking at this behavior where if you have two or more of the same sprites on screen, the value from object space position switches to world space.
Is this a known and accepted limitation, or something that might be addressed in future releases?

Even more curious, this happens when you duplicate the sprite, but not when you drag a new instance to scene and apply the material.

I have the same problem, quite important that it stays object space for me. Currently in 2020.2.2f.
