Objects to follow sprite's movement path

Hi everyone.

Is there a memory effiecient way to have several objects follow the exact movement of a sprite after a predetermined pause? And would there be a set time allowed before, things got, very, slow, indeed?

I have had a search but cannot find a specific answer to this one.

There would be up to four objects eventually following the sprite by the recorded path set by the player’s movement.

I understand that this would hog resources and erasing the path memory when no longer required would be beneficial.

Any pointers or direction to a previous topic would be much appreciated.
