Ocean Blue Skybox

My first skybox in Bryce. Tell me what you think (and try it out. I can’t because my Unity trial ran out).

Your left and right images are reversed (based on their names) and there are seams showing around the skybox:

Your Skybox

Clamp the skybox textures to get rid of the seams.

Doh! You’re right, redone, clamped, no seams… :stuck_out_tongue: Same URL as above.

Nice work.

Wow. I like it. Thanks for webbing it. And thanks for the warning about left and right. Let me go rename them right now.

Not to sound like an ass, but it looks very old - early terragen. It has no dimension or depth (two parallel planes). It’s the applications fault though really. Most apps can’t do skies very well. The water is so so. Again, kinda what Bryce does. :stuck_out_tongue: Depends on what your doing… the sky might be alright for an anime style game… but that’s all that it seems appropriate for. You might wanna leave the flare out and do that in game so it’s more dynamic and less pixelated.

Well, you don’t see the sky too much in RaceCraft. I think it might fit in the water levels pretty well. I could always have added some little rocky islands or something in the distance of course. Ah well, for my next one.

Was it easy to export the skybox as images like that or did you have to do something special like render each facing?

I used the different preset views in Bryce, then clicked on each one, rendered, and saved as an image. Pretty easy. The camera angle has to be 112.5 degrees for it to work though.

I like how the water looks like in the distance.

First of all, nice work, and i think to use it for my own game. But i got one problem. I made the skybox and rune it, but you can still see the lines between the images. Is there someone can tell me how to fix it, make it smooth?

Switch the textures used to clamp instead of repeat, should fix it.

As it’s already written up in the first posts… in this ooooolld thread.

wuahahhaah, yes you right. it’s an old thread. But i got an answer:P Thnx, it works.

Can we use these royalty free?

Looks cool, I would take it and use it in my game, if not the blur and watermarks.
