Oculus Quest with Spatial Anchors?

Hey everyone!

A while back on Reddit, someone posted a location based shooter on the Oculus Quest. When asked about how they synced up the tracking with the physical space, they mentioned Azure Spatial Anchors.

I thought Oculus didn’t give us access to the camera feed? Does anybody know how you could implement Spatial Anchors on the Quest? Did they have to root the Quest? Custom firmware? Or is it something you can implement in Unity?

With the consumer version of the Quest there is no access to the camera nor the point cloud of the environment. I would recommend searching more info about that shooter or tell its name here as they probably used some kind of external hardware to do it or sort of origin calibration.
