Odd spacing between characters

Been trying to fix this issue for a long time. It’s self explanatory in the attached image, in case is not visible I have this text: “The Panda” with both Unity default text and TMP. The problem is this odd spacing in char “T” and “P”, the TMP text looks like this: “T he P anda” while the unity text presents no issue.

I have try by adjusting the padding, resolution but so far I cannot fix it. The font is Comic Book, and this issue is just in TMP, the graphic designer uses the font in their programs (Corel, PS, etc) with no issue, the spacing is only with TMP. Any idea how to fix it?

Edit: Fixed (or kinda) by manually changing the glyph parameters. If you guys have a better solution, please let me know

What version of the TMP package are you using? Please be sure to use Preview 13 which is available for 2018.4, 2019.x and 2020.x

Please provide a link to your font so I can double check these glyphs.

Most likely the issue is related to glyph adjustment pairs where you may have an adjustment pair setup for those characters in your font asset. Adjusting padding will have no effect on this.

FYI: The Sampling Point Size is typically between 72 and 100 with padding usually 10%. By default the sampling point size is 90 with padding of 9. Some fonts can still look good at lower sampling point size (especially East Asian characters).
