I have updated one of my games and it was released from review on 13th of March. The day before I updated the release date to 12th of March and was of course hoping for the game to show up on the release list (like it used to do). This didn’t happen this time. Have anyone else released an update to their game recently and experienced the same?
The appstore is not predictable. It really seems like it is not even an automated system and someone just manually enters stuff whenever they get around to it. A new app of mine went ready for sale last night and I could not even find it via any means until 8 hours later. Even then it only showed up via direct search.
btw. I don’t think stuff like this is off-topic at all in this section. Dev for the iphone really is much more than just the details of the game itself.
The store has been updating very slowly recently, I believe its due to the new review system being implemented, where ratings are shown only for the most current version by default. I recently ended my sale on Zombieville USA and released the lite version simultaneously, and the change took 5+ hours and, to add insult to injury, many users were unable to buy the game for some unknown period of time during those several hours because the store kept saying the app was “being modified”. It lasted long enough for me to get several e-mails about it, so I’d recommend making any changes to your app at an off-peak time.
I have had the same problem! And also my apps aren’t showing up at all on the iPhone’s New Release categories. Its had a big effect on my sales (comparing to the apps I release back in late Nov and early December).
