Oh, you silly Flashbang Studios, you! :-D

Buzz skills. They have it.

lol

It’s fun to have fun on the Internet

Also there’s a pretty hilarious comment thread here: The Witness Vs Time Donkey | Rock Paper Shotgun

Some funny stuff in those comments, plus a lot of b.s. too… :stuck_out_tongue: Nice quick skim/read!

I like the way Blow trys to make himself look intelligent.

Braid is one of my favorite games of all time. I don’t think it’s pretentious, but it is really flowery. It seems like that’s Blow’s thing. I think what Flashbang did is hilarious.

While I really enjoyed that actual game part of Braid, and the art was certainly top-notch, I found the story to be somewhat off-putting. If Blow wanted me to despise the protagonist as a pathetic angsty philosophy undergrad, my hat’s off to the man, because he couldn’t have done a better job.

But yeah, the actual game was great fun.

I thought the protagonist was supposed to be J. Robert Oppenheimer. Go figure.

He doesn’t need to try; Blow is more far more intelligent than anyone at Flashbang (and likely anyone on this forum). That’s why we have to do something like a parody versus, say, a straightforward debate about the potential of games as high art.

The quote on The Witness page is Lao Tse, by the way, from one of Taoism’s most sacred texts.
