I was using an old version of Photoshop Elements 3, ok for basic needs.
But (I didn’t even know) it is a Power PC application and now after installing Lion, if I try to open Photoshop it says : you can’t open… … because PowerPC applications are no longer supported.
Oh well, I guess it is time to upgrade to something a bit newer
I do have Seashore installed but I think I am too used to photoshop so I need to get a cheap version of not-latest-version of photoshop to use from now on.
If you’re willing to learn a new interface (and deal with an X11-based UI), GIMP might be a nice free option for you. It’s at least as powerful as Photoshop CS 1 and free, but its UI and way of working is considerably different from PS or PSE’s.
Pixelmator is also a cheaper Mac-only option that you may want to consider.
Hi,
thanks for the suggestions, I did try GIMP in the past, I will have a lok at Pixelmator, issue is I have been using Photoshop for long time so I am too used to its UI, but I will surely consider/try options
