omg Zbrush omg

Yes, its Zbrush…

What else have you got?

He’s got free licenses for us, of course : D

Hopefully a Mac version somewhere. Or at least a trial of zbrush that hasn’t existed for years. Or at least tell us that they won’t be shuffling between the two platforms anymore really soon, and adopt Maxon’s business model of equal Mac/PC releases and support.

Yeah, the new features are cool and all, but I find it hard to get excited when, as a Mac user, experience has shown that I’ll probably only ever see two thirds of those features, some time in 2011.

Unfortunately … yes :frowning:

Even though to be fair: We mac Users DID get GoZ before the windows guys did. And it works

Yes I would love GoZ :frowning: but have to wait for ZB4!

R3 looks awesome (windows here), but GoZ would probably have improved my workflow overall more than the windows R3 features.

Especially since Unity C4D exports actually work now

3D still lives in Windowz/Linux land, sorry Mac users.

Besides, statistically speaking, Mac users aren’t intelligent enough to use 3D software anyway…

(Let the flame war begin!)

You’ve already been told that the creators of Unity are Mac users. Seriously, what is wrong with you?

Those hard surface sculpting look mighty interesting. I was always more of a robot than organic blob :stuck_out_tongue: so this makes me happy.

Hes joking, obviously?

How appropriate. You fight like a cow.

:stuck_out_tongue:

This is the end for you, you gutter crawling cur!

its zbrush man… do you need anything more than that… ?

I mean did you not get the notice. Its zbrush. Freakin zbrush man. Just the sight of the letter ‘z’ now gives me an erection.

And mac users already have GoZ…

And this makes me laugh much more than any pseudo-pseudo-flame war

I spent the whole 4 days off playing / reacquainting myself with ZB.

If I don’t keep at it and let time go by without using it, I forget how to do things - fortunately their online ZClassroom training is really good at getting you (back) up to speed quickly.

I tell ya, whenever they release a new features video, I always grab the wifey and have her take a look at what’s been added - granted, she’s not sure why I’m jumping up and down with tears in my eyes while she watches but she can appreciate the apparent power of what achievable with the program. :stuck_out_tongue:

I am probably the only one here but I still prefer and use Mudbox.

Using zBrush is like using Blender over something like Max or Maya. You will burn more brain cells figuring out retarded UI than actually getting your work done.

/personal view

I know what you mean, i was in the same boat a few months ago. I loved Mudbox for its simplicity and ease of use, and couldnt understand how could anyone use Zbrush for any serious work.

However, with recent developments of both applications and the acquisition of Mudbox by Autodesk, i realized there is no hope for Mudbox getting anywhere near Zbrush as far as raw power is considered. Its kind of like with all the ‘standard’ 3d apps out there (3ds max, maya, modo etc) - the more powerful ones are usually less user friendly and harder to learn. So yes, Mudbox has better interface, but thats pretty much its only advantage over Zbrush.

Then again, Mudbox is cheaper. So its a fair deal, i guess. But in my opinion, Zbrush and Mudbox really dont compare - currently they are too different.

A word about Zbrush interface, though - it is indeed scary for someone coming from an app like Mudbox, expecting for everything to be clear and obvious on the get go. But the truth is, thats not the way it works with Zbrush - you just have to spend those few hours on reading up and watching tutorials. Then you gradually realize its not that bad, as i did. There are still many things Zbrush does backwards and Pixologic for some reason is stubborn with fixing them, but after a while you simply get used to it.
