This is fantastic. Its very much like the daz3d genesis model.
I do have a few questions.
I see that you can change the length of the body parts but my game is all pre-teens and teens. do you plan on adding a full proportional morph for the full body size?
Will you be releasing theme packs? Take a look at the bionic marines in my thread. I would be looking for scifi armor like that.
By fully proportional, do you mean the scale of whole model? If so, yes, it’s already implemented, there is just no slider for it. I will add that, and one for the head in the near future.
2/3. Yes and Yes. My ultimate plan is to be able to offer individual clothing / hair options so developers can pick and choose what they want to purchase for their games. Leading up to that, expansion packs, new starter packs, etc.
Based on feedback from several other places, my first focus will be on creating some new heads/faces, specifically more feminine ones as I seem to have missed the mark with the androgyny of current one.
Yes I was concerned on the lack of femanin look. But I am very happy to know about your long turm plans. Your system may solve quite a bit of problems for us. Also ethnic featured head would be important for my project.
From what I can see this project wouldnt take that much to intergrade into the kit that we are using. It will take us a bit before we can buy it though. Let us know if you will do a payment installment like zerano did for his kit.
Very nice looking kit!! Would I be able to add my own rigged mesh and items into this kit? If I picked up this kit I was hoping to be able to use it as it is and also use it for the player to be able to cycle through and equip items to the characters i have already made (in this case would use the morphs options, for I have not yet prepared any). Is this possible with this kit
This is a question I’ve been getting a lot. The answer isn’t as straight forward as I wish. Most of the things in One Character are built on something completely custom:
The body modifications are bone based on a custom rig.
The topology of the models themselves are set-up to handle the custom deforms of the body mods.
The texture and colors masks are set to use a custom shader, and as such the textures are atypical in that they are mostly transparent with the color being set underneath.
So, the short answer is no, you can’t plug your own characters into the system. However, if you are familiar with modeling software, and can already make your own characters otherwise, it’s not difficult to expand on the system and create your own models.
I am currently working on some sci-fi / mech-ish armor. When I am finished with the high poly sculpt, I will make some videos on how to create your own models that are incorporated into the system.
