Now what sort of joints to use to fix the sides, top and bottom together I really fancied using dovetails, so out came the saw and marking stuff Some practice on spare bits quickly showed that I don
Digging in deeper. You may already have a general sense of what?s harmful to the human body. The thoroughly to help your stomach, for it has no teeth!
Dad’s philosophy has always been don’t worry that you haven’t finished all your projects If you ever get them all done, then you will be bored sitting around with nothing to do I guess that helps
My last question was about people experience with OCB Part of that is that voices, normally God, give her directives which she must follow They are not serious or dangerous things, the
I think only two things are needed:
-
Show them the benefits they get from the 3D power of Unity in comparision to what can be achieved with flash. You might also want to point out fusion fall as an example of how far the tech can be stretched actually.
-
Unity Tech is collecting data so you might want to use those as a potential proof that there is already an installed userbase.
Above that, installing the Unity Plugin is at worst as annoying, longwinded and troublesome as getting flash 10 to work, thought commonly its less problems
You might also point out the ROI that working in Unity could potentially provide if the project were to be expanded, sold up, etc … ability to use same project file to create standalone/downloadable versions for Mac and PC, full 3D support as dreamora pointed out, probably faster development time therefore cheaper to develop, etc. Point out the cost benefits as much as the tech benefits if they’re business folks you need to sell it to.
The two replies above capture some great thoughts:
-
Sure, Unity’s penetration is lower but the install process is smooth and simple.
-
The quality of content you can create in Unity, compared to Flash/PaperVision, is so much higher.
-
The ROI is not to be forgotten, you’ll likely get more 3D work done faster and with higher quality in Unity than in Flash.
If you need help convincing the client and you think that some words from us (Unity Tech) will help then ping me and I’ll lend a hand.
Thank you guys for all your great suggestions!
Tom, yes, sure I would contact you if I need some words from you.
Another strategy that I could think of, is to sell my client the possibility to play the same game on iPhone by only an additional project cost of around 30%. iPhone is very popular in Hong Kong and my client is targeting the young adults market so an iPhone version must be a good selling point.
We have quickly created a demo and to demonstrate to my client tomorrow. So hopefully they will be convinced. Otherwise we have to offer them the game in Flash with Papervision.
