Opaak Amulet of Happiness concept / WIP

Hi ya all fellow “uniters”!

Here’s my WIP commercial project to be, Opaak Amulet of Happiness:



I’m all new to unity and been playing around with it for the past 2 months after work. Here’s my concept that I’m aiming to be released as paid app for mobile devices / pads and on the web as well, propably trough kickstarter.

As I’m a 3D artist / designer and not a coder, I’m trying to find coder(s) / scripter(s) for my project to make it an actual game. I’ve got a playable demonstration of the world 1 graphics and gameplay concept if anyone’s interested. (screenshots from that demo above).

My concept key ideas:

Straight forward platformer / runner with enemies, moving platforms, rolling traps, obstacles etc- similar to others released games like Temple Run 2 etc.

The twist: autorun mode, that player can “pause” (in easy mode) to draw jumps, strifes etc that characters makes when pause is released. So in a way you draw lines on your touch screen (or with mouse), jumping left, right, straight forward, strafing left and right while running through obstacles and enemies. My idea is, that the puzzles and platformer action is solid, fast paced running forward while player draws vertical lines on screen to jump, horizontal lines / curves in front of the character to make the future movement route and actions ahead of the characters. Sorry if the explanation was confusing, I’ll explain it more if someone’s interested in becoming part of the team.

There are going to be different levels, bosses and puzzles during the game, but all the action is made the same way, always running either forward (away from the camera) or towards the camera (for example down hill, similar to Crash Bandicoot scenes where there are rolling boulders coming behind).

I’m trying to make the graphics colourful and “simplified” but don’t want to go straight cartoon style either… Feel free to comment on the few screens.

The input I’m doing for the team currently, is all the 3D, 2D and level designs as well as concept of the storyline etc. and just playing around with Unity. :slight_smile: I have a fellow musician to help me out with the foley sounds and effects and music.

Edit: Oh i though it was going like a crash bandicoot game without autorun, maybe it can fit better but it’s your game (: .

Here’s a short youtube clip of a gameplay so far (keyboard control and level design just temp), I don’t know why youtube export made the screen a little too black, the mine / cave level is not that dark, but there’s a nice blue ambient around…

Here’s a little updated gameplay video in “trailer” format. Still working on a loads of functions so the level design will be also refined (traps, rotating platforms, different types of enemies, etc)
