Open source autocomplete/typeahead implementation for UIToolkit?

Hello, I am looking for an “autocomplete” implementation for UIToolkit. Basically I have a list of around a thousand strings, and I want the user to be able to easily select one by typing. Ideally the user is able to type part of the string into a text box and narrow down the list to only matching options, and then select one.

Is there an implementation of this anywhere? Examples of this in the web world would be react-bootstrap-typeahead - npm or react-autocomplete - npm

Theres no public implementation available for this but we do have some internal classes that you could use for inspiration.
For example UnityCsReference/Modules/UIBuilder/Editor/Utilities/StyleField/FieldSearchCompleter.cs at 67d5d85abbea076e469a1642e04f3ab50a326bea · Unity-Technologies/UnityCsReference · GitHub

Alternatively and what I would suggest is to look into creating a custom search provider and a popup window to open a picker that uses the custom provider.

For example, we use one in the localization package to search through all the tables and select a single entry:
https://docs.unity3d.com/Packages/com.unity.localization@1.4/manual/SearchFilters.html

Thanks @karl_jones , is there any updated version of this?
I couldnt find this class in Unity 6.4 though

You can try to open a Search Window to do this, something like this:

(Around 09:20 if the embed eats the time jump)

I think it was moved to Modules\UIToolkitAuthoringEditor\Managed\Inspector\Controls\FieldSearchCompleter.cs
