OpenFeint iOS users count accurate? Thousands of users, 10s of sales

I can’t figure this out. OpenFeint is saying my game has thousands of iOS users. AppAnnie says my game has been featured in New and Noteworthy.

However, sales have been 30-20 daily. Where are these users coming from? It has no where near as many sales as users reported.

Game is Galaxy Bowl.

Hoping for an outside chance the iOS users reported is actually accurate.

Thank you.

thousands of users does not mean thousands of sales as there can be multiple users per device or multiple device per iOS account with different OF users and alike.

also there is piracy

I think it’s just being pirated.

The number of iOS sales is ~100. The number of iOS users is ~4000. That would mean each user would have to have 40 accounts on average.

Is this normal? Or are this lopsided stats telling me something? For example, the game is good but it cost too much? Or does every new game get this level of piracy and it’s just nothing new.

I think you can expect games that don’t sell well to still get pirated a lot because people download bundles of games

Yep, that’s possible. Anyone else with experience with OpenFeint on iOS? If it is piracy, anyone else who’s used OpenFeint should see similar numbers. Assuming nothing special is going on.

Yes, we’ve got the same thing, seems to me natural now… Arr

Yep. Being the noob I am, I didn’t anticipate quite that level. To future noob developers – it’s pirated. And in your case, future developer, it will likely be even more lop-sided.
