Opening my project in Unity 5 has taken about an hour compiling scripts. Is that too long?

Is it safe to say that I should just open the task manager and cancel the process?

Opening project for the first time takes long because all project assets (meshes, textures,…) are imported. This shouldn’t take so long the 2nd time.

it was waiting for me to approve an action in the transfer. It was hidden behind the progress bar and wanted me to click continue. Kind of a stupid answer, and I’d hate to mark it as right. However, seeing as I received a comment by someone having the same problem I’m going to go ahead and post it as it may help someone in the future.
