Is anyone work with it?

I know there are a lot plugins and framework which are supporting for MMO in Unity such as photon network, playfab, astavism etc.

Is this really for MMO server if we use it as backend?
Please discuss about it.

Thank you,

Its available open source on GitHub. You can always have a look and try it out.

Hmm. It is worth to try.

It is very, very rudimentary. I’m not sure why they call it an MMO network engine. It’s not even really a server. It just appears to be someone’s personal project, not an engine by any definition. It’s a handful of classes that connect to database and retrieve hardcoded blocks of data as objects. There is no abstraction and nothing related to gameplay, just account/player data retrieval. I am also not seeing any kind of encryption, passwords are stored all over the place as public strings. Skip it.

To bait noobs into thinking they can make an MMO with this.

Hmm. That gives me an idea. I could make a nicely structured folder layout, each having a stub script in that is empty with a single comment : // add your code here.

Then sell it as a mmo/fps/rpg/rts highly customizable framework. I could even throw in a rock, a barrel and sword, claiming it comes with demo assets. What d’ya think? $20?

People brought Minecraft.

If it was an easy solution for building your own MMO server they wouldn’t simply give it away. They’d be selling it.
