Package issues installing Cinemachine 2.6.3 (Unity 2019.4.14f1)

Hi everyone,
I have an issue when I’m trying to download Cinemachine 2.6.3 on Unity 2019.4.14f1.
Above the log error:
“FileNotFindException…Bubble\CinemachineTimelineEditorExtensions\TimelineEditorExtensions\TimelineEditorExtensions.asmref.meta’”

It’s pretty anoying because I need it to create cutscenes with dolly camera with track, and for the current being it’s impossible.

Thanks for helping !

Thanks for reporting this. You are not the only one getting these errors. However, I’m not able to reproduce it.

Using windows.
New project with Unity 2019.1.14f1.
Install Cinemachine 2.6.3.
No errors.

What are you doing that’s different?
Any info you can think of that might help us track this down would be helpful.
Can you send me the project?

Hi Gregoryl,

I finally succeeded to fix the issue by reuploading my project. I’m using the same configuration by the way.
It’s prettry wierd and I don’t know the causes.

All I can tell is:

  • I was tring to use cinemachine on a timeline and when I was trying to record an animation track with dolly camera and it didn’t work.
  • After, I tried to reinstall Cinemachine to know if the issue was from this package and the log error above appeared
  • I restarted several times Unity, still the same issue
  • I reinstalled the entire project, it worked !

How can I send you the project ?

Sorry in advance if my english is not correct.

Good luck

Can you try this experiment?
Move your project to a place with a short path length. You might be tripping over a bug where the package manager rejects paths that are too long. Can you try and tell me if it helps?

It’s possible because the path was very long ! Now it’s working so…It’s useless, but I can try to reproduce the bug if you want by replacing my project in the old location when the bug was occuring

yes please

Here we are ! I got once again the issue by moving the project more deeper in my file explorer !

Thank you for your help in confirming this diagnosis. The issue has been fixed for 2021.1, but has not yet been backported to earlier versions of Unity.

Oki nice ! Thank you for your support ! Before, I used to like very well Unity, now I’m really in love !
