I got an email today saying my first Asset Store package was being rejected, with no reason stated…here’s the beginning of the email:
“We’ve reviewed the submission and, consistent with the criteria considered in our approval process, we have chosen not to publish this asset.”
I sent an email back asking for a precise reason, as I thought I would get one in the email. Anyone have any experience with this? Can I expect an actual response with a reason? I don’t want to guess at the actual reason.
It was only going to be $10. There is one competing product on the Asset Store called “Audio Toolkit” ($65) which I found when I was getting mine finished up. There are no executables or anything weird in my package.
It would make sense to me that they have reasons for rejecting things, I would just rather hear what they are then get a completely informationless email. That doesn’t really help me. I would be very surprised if I’m the only one that has a problem with that methodology.
Hi Jerotas,
Don’t give up on it. Keep looking for the problem. It could be something very simple. I had this situation happen to me in the past. It was a simple model/mesh. I made the mistake of including the mesh colliders in the same .fbx file as the actual model, instead of having them in separate .fbx file. It took me a while to figure out what the problem was. But, eventually, it was accepted…Yes, it’s very annoying that they don’t tell you why it was rejected. But, don’t give up…keep looking for a possible problem…good luck.
Well I already imported the same package I submitted there, into another game I’m working on, and I see no problems with it there. It’s all Aces…I need their feedback to proceed I’m afraid.
Honestly, who rejects stuff without providing a reason? If you can spend 10 minutes rejecting a package, you can spend 30 seconds providing a reason. Poor form Unity.
I sent an email to Caitlyn and got some reasons. Resubmitted. The only thing was…I didn’t know to send an email to Caitlyn. I found that in another thread. Responded to the rejection email and got no response. Whereas Caitlyn responded within minutes…
How is this drunk on power? It’s clear by your wording you think yourself above caitlyn who runs the asset store. She is horrendously overworked and you’re all whinging. If you want a resolution then email her politely. This behaviour doesn’t instil confidence in your would-be buyers. A buyer looking at an asset store author moaning non stop on a forum is just sad.
Email her politely if there is an issue, no need to act like this on forums.
Don’t be ridiculous. Nobody is above anybody else. The minimal thing that needed to be different is that when this sort of thing happens, we need to know (without reading a thread like this) that we should email her in particular. As stated above (replying to the rejection email gets no reply). So then her email address should be in the standard rejection email. Case closed.
I started the thread because I didn’t know to email her in particular. That should be understandable. I am sorry to hear that she is overworked. When there are problems, I bring them up.
Hi,
Judging from my previous experience with unity asset store, chances are that everything will resolve quickly. If you get no response, you can always try again after a few days.
