Yes yes, you do receive feedback differently, but nothing could be as transparent and direct, than direct rating and reviews from the users.
It takes a lot of guts, but it is one of the better ways for the organization to avoid “cooking” the feedback they receive for internal purposes, and really listen to the users.
Why stop there, maybe reviews and star ratings for Unity editor releases as well.

Absolutely. That would most certainly make Unity the most transparent towards its users and most open for direct feedback.
I understand how it can be scary for the various teams working on various features and I can think of a million excuses to not do it, but it would promote progress and bring clarity.
