Pending features:
Rich text. (Goal is to recognize the same markup as the Unity text kits.)
I wrote it as my own text mesh after attempting to write it with the built in kits and running into trouble with it giving me bad estimations of text geometry.
Hopefully I didn’t miss something in my searches and completely waste my time.
Bold, italic and image tags will be added shortly.
I will see if I can make a Unity 357 build however it might be slightly stunted.
It should be clear that this is more like an HTML kit than a super customizable kit. I am considering a Noble PDF product for more advanced use cases but not immediately.
That took a little longer than hoped, but images are in. Check the manual for details.
Technically bold and italic tags are there too but the included skins’ fonts don’t support it and there’s a little bug so I’ll make that official in the next version after this.
Very cool asset, Toby. Pretty hard to find in the Asset Store since it isn’t indexed with the word “text”, you know… but as soon as I saw it, it was an instant buy since it’s precisely what I was needing for my current project.
Are you planning to extend it, for example with a rolling page effect ala iBooks that would follow the mouse/finger ?
Noble Text has been heavily rejiggered – and renamed to “Noble Text” – and this new version 2.0 is on the store now. Watch the quick tutorial to get the basic idea:
