Paint over RealWorld Terrain Texture

Hy togehter, i wonder if anyone of you have / had ever the same problem.

I created a really good looking Terrain with the asset “Real World Terrain”, but now i want to “fix” some parts on the map which doesn´t work. I have a part of a highway in my map, which is covered with cars on the texture as you can imagine. Now i want to keep the street but just paint over the cars to make them disapear. I even looked for a texture that looks exactly like the hightway on the terrain to paint over the cars, but the opacity is not strong enough to do so.

The only way to paint over it so far i found is to set “Target Strength” on 1…but this turns out to be WAY to dark then…so not really what i wanted.

Anyone any idea how to solve this kind of problem?

Maybe you could take the splat map from the terrain into Gimp or PS and paint over the areas where the cars are. Not sure, as I have not tried it but it sounds like you have one large texture from the Real World Terrain asset so there should be a way to access it outside of Unity.

Sorry for the late reply, got a little bit busy lately. But thank you for the idea, i will try it as soon as i can and tell you if it worked or not.

EDIT: Don´t know how to mark this thread as solved, but it is .

Took me a while, but now i got it…THANKS! a lot for telling me to use Gimp for editing like this. It´s actually really really impressive how good it looks now.
