hello
When I set an object with Parallax Diffuse or Parallax Specular, and i go near that object, the texture get waved. I know that is parallax, texture´s deform.
I can´t find normal map option in materials list.
I was wondering if Parallax is the same to Normal Map.
All bumped shaders are normalmap shaders actually
Normals maps are the (blue-tinted) maps which are used to calculate the real-time lighting on a given area of your object. In Unity, you can use a greyscale height map but they will converted to a normal map internally before use.
Parallax maps are always greyscale height maps, and they’re used to dynamically distort the UV coordinates of the normal map to create a perspective and greater depth to the bumpy surface created by the normal map. Without a normal map, they would make no sense.
As Dreamora explained, anywhere you see a “bumped” material in Unity, that’s using a normal map. As I said above, you don’t have to supply a normal map, but you can.
ok !, so i think going to convert the normalmap image to black and white and then call it from Bump/Specular mode,
thank you for answering !
