Parallax warping

Hi guys,

This is the first time I’ve posted on here, normally don’t need to post… but this time I’ve got a particularly strange issue of which I’ve seen only one other case. The other case is located here: Parallax Diffuse Warping Problem - Questions & Answers - Unity Discussions

After importing an object into unity for a little test, a strange warping/liquifying effect occurs each time a parallax material is used. It is particularly visible when close to the object, and zooming away from the object makes it less apparent.

Here are some images of the effect below (one of the pictures looks normal for comparison (using bumped diffuse)):

The main mesh topology was modelled in maya and additional detail added in mudbox. Was then taken from mudbox as .fbx, imported into unity and scaled to 1.

Any help on this would be much appreciated!
Thank you for your time.

I have exactly the same problem with blender import. And my friend complains about this too, He uses a different program which also comes up with a same result by both: direct importing or exporting via the modelling program.

Hey there,

I ran into the same issue today. To save double posting I posted the answer on the unity questions thread here Parallax Diffuse Warping Problem - Questions & Answers - Unity Discussions

At least i THINK it’s the answer. It worked for me anyhow, I hope it works for you too!
