This is really a question for the Parallels forums. Don’t expect any help from the company itself, but there are some experienced users there who might know the answer to your problem.

I did…
But there dont seem to a lot of action going on at their forum.
So I thought that maybe I wasnt the only Unity/Parralels user

Cheers

Oh, you’re not…

I have a MBP 2.33GHz laptop with an ATI X1600. I’m running OS X 10.4.10 and Parallels 3.0 and I get hardware acceleration. Note that under Parallels my system doesn’t see an ATI brand card, rather it says “Parallels Video Driver”. Also understand that Parallels 2.0 didn’t support hardware acceleration at all, that was introduced in the 3.0 release. So if you’re not using 3.0 you need to upgrade. If you are using 3.0 then I’m not sure what’s up…

I have tried everything and 3ds Max simply won’t work under parallels 3.0. Parallels has a lot of potential, but it really isn’t there yet. If you try to run a lot of newer games it says that your graphics driver is out of date and unsupported. Parrallels builds a custom graphics driver that is a general one that deals with hardware and there VM. Really I had to just put bootcamp back to use 3ds Max on my Macbook Pro. Hopefully they will get it working soon.

I had a chat with support!
Install Parallels Tool and bingo!
