Particle disappearance distance

I have tried to find an answer, but so far no luck. Particles disappear at certain maximum distance, depending on their force/velocity. I am trying to make them fly the maximum distance at any speed I choose until they collide with something and get destroyed on collision.
I am trying to make a rain, that could get slowed down independently from any other aspect on the game, but so far if I choose low force or low velocity, particles get destroyed even before they hit the ground.
Does anybody know if this is possible?

Damn it, the mistake is really stupid, I just kept the energy too low.
