Do they affect realtime GI? in mixed and realtime mode they seem not to.

Having spoken with the GI team this feature should work so it sounds like a bug.
Could you file a bug report so we can investigate it?
Edit: It looks like we simply do not copy the light mapping mode across. Should be a simple fix, no need for a bug report.

832496, happens even with RTGI cpu use set to unlimited.
