Particle rendering based on Animation

Hey everyone,

I am creating a steampunk character in Blender with animations. I would like to add in a particle animation for steam at frame X. Is this possible or will I have to associate it with a timer. I dont want to use a timer as I am afraid that as time goes on the desynchronize. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

NeverMind. I can use animationState.time and i can keep it synchronized.
