Particles incompatible with Spotlights?

Hi!

We ran some tests in our game (Kona), and it looks like particles react to lighting as if all light sources were point lights. This is not really useful considering most 3D games use spotlights such as flashlights or car headlights.

Is this the intended behaviour?

It may be a bug on our end.

The lighting is determined based on the shader you are using. There is nothing preventing particles from using spot lights.

lol I am sorry, wrong thread. This was for the Standard Particle Shader from Particle System Previews section.

Oh I see. That shader uses an approximation for its light accumulation, so it may be quite inaccurate. It would be very expensive to do accurate light contribution from multiple lights and we havent figured out a good way to do it yet
