particles to not align to camera

hi,

is there an option to rotate particles in a specific angle? or a way to disable the align to camera thing???

Under “Stretch particles” in the particle renderer, you can change to stretched (which is oriented by how you set the length and velocity scales), or horizontally or vertically oriented.

ok,

just another question. i now finally got my footprint particles. horizontal and not aligned to the camera. the problem now, is that they are only heading in one direction no matter in which direction my character is looking! maybe it is because of the early hour but i don’t know how to solve this.

Well, you can’t, not with particles anyway. Usually footprints are done with decal meshes.

now it’s getting weird…

just because i am totally pissed and nothing works i attache just for the fun of it a special effect handler to my paticle system. nothing happens… except my footprint particles are gone.
i remove the handler and everything works again… except… the particles are now rotating with the charakter. i haven’t changed anything… really… and i swear that before i did that, the particles were just heading in one direction.
after that i am noticing that the particles are flattening and streching depending on how the camera is positioned behind my charakter. when the camera is behind the charakter they look perfect. when the charakter rotates but the camera doesn’t follow fast enough they are flatter. thats also something that didn’t happen before. so… i could be happy because except for the flattening eveything looks right, but why did it happen? … and:) any idea how i could get rid of the camera depending particle emission???

i am realizing that this gets a little bit strange and maybe a bit vigorous but…
i checked everything… the stretch particles are still on horizontal billboard and all the other options are also still the same, but … no… simulate in worldspace is turned off now… ok … blabla

now… just for the purpose of it… why are the particles deforming depending on the camera angle? can i get rid of that?
