Performance issue (409470)

Hi,

I used to have NVidia GT9800 video card and Unity was performing well but recently I upgraded to NVidia GTX285, uninstalled old drivers, installed new ones, and everything is fine but… Unity.

The framerate is about 2 fps all the time. It is like that both in editor and web plugin. The “Tropical Island” demo is simply not working - it continuosly tries to switch render options up and down and playback is completely jaggy. The same happens in the browser.

I tested video subsystem with NVidia’s “Medusa” demo and it was working well.

Tested with Cinebench and it was fine too.

Any ideas what to check to find the cause of the problem?

Thanks ahead !

Try reinstalling Unity. It sounds like it saves your graphics details or something like this (just a guess) and uninstalling and then installing may fix the problem.

Not that easy…

I updated DirectX with February 2010 update, then uninstalled graphic card driver and installed one from Windows Update service.

And bingo - all the functionality is back again

Cool stuff.
