I am running a VR application made with Unity 5.1.3f1, using Oculus 0.7.0.0 windows runtime (on windows 8.1) and nVidia Gefore GTX 980 4GB and 355.84 driver
When V-sync is enabled in build, it crashes. With V-sync disabled it works. Also works with V-sync enabled in “non-VR” mode (oculus switched off, displaying only on monitor)

I don’t know if it will help your problems or not, but personally I’m recommending people with issues consider installing patch releases of Unity. Because various VR fixes are often listed in the release notes for patches, its certainly an active development front these days. For example 5.1.3p2 has 4 VR fixes mentioned, including overall stability improvements.
