Hey, I heard recently that Unity Web Player doesn’t need to be demanding at all. I heard people run it 60FPS flat on worse laptops than mine, I will although include my specs, but a note is when I am spectating, I have 60FPS flat in all positions, but in first person, around 20ish, these are estimates. Oh, and when NOT in full screen, I suffer from SEVERE input lag, but a slight performance boost.
Incase you need, here are the specs: (BTW, the game in questing here is Contract Wars on Kongregate)
AMD Radeon HD 6320M
AMD E-450 APU 1.65GHz
–Possible incorrect drivers, I searched far and wide and THINK I have the right ones, if you could link me to the for-sure correct ones on the AMD website, that would be great!
-Thanks in advance!
Anyone? If I am in the wrong thread could someone save me some embarrassment and tell me? It can also help for you to check out Contract Wars in specific, maybe some console commands? I have all of my settings set on low of course, using Google Chrome, I have ended useless processes and played in Incognito Mode, all SLIGHTLY helping, but not making it worth playing :l Please help!
I dont think here is anyone that can provide you help, sorry
Unity is a engine, and there is nothing wrong with the webplayer. Go and find the developer of the game you mentioned and if they have a forum post there because they are responsible for the performance of the game
Ok, thanks for the tip element_wsc!
Not to bash your head in, but a statement “on worse laptops then mine” doesn’t look based on anything except that you may have purchased the laptop more recently here.
(And a 6320m and E-450 simply are not powerfull, with all due respect. It gets it’s behind handed by a combi of Atom D525 with Nvidia GT520(m) easily which i am testing on myself regularly, which also doesn’t have so-great performance in some situations.)
the fact that the game runs better in full screen makes me think that the computer has less trouble playing the game when the other web-elements in kongregate are not in-view (And thus likely not performed/rendered), effectively putting my gamble on lack of hardware power. (gameplay shouldn’t severely deteriate by some web-elements), To be sure i’ll check that game on the D525/GT520 combi and see how it responds.
As a footnote I have seen severe lag variations on a single site, not to mention the 3 (facebook, Kongregate, VK) I play on.
I’ve seen ping rates between 45 and 175 on Kongregate. Facebook is usually worse and VK is god awful.
I’m sure this is a combination of site output and my internet connection speed.
