Performance of Windows Store Apps

I’ve run some really basic tests on my PC and it appears that the performance I’m getting from the version of my Windows Store App isn’t as good as what I get inside the Unity Editor or Standalone Build.

Other than the input lag -disable-low-latency-presentation-api command; is there any other know performance issue with Window Store Apps?

not that I am aware of
have you profiled the app?

Are you talking about performance on a windows phone or desktop?

The original post, was almost a year ago

The problems were on the PC but the tablet builds were also completely unplayable.

Are you building in Debug mode? Debug mode gives terrible performance for me, but building in Master gives perfect performance.

Also, I think there were some bugs in previous versions of Unity that caused a lot of performance issues in Windows Store games.

Have you since solved your issue?

Honestly I’ve since given up on the platform. My personal experience with the platform was awful support compared to the other platforms, significant bugs and standard features not working - so I would have had to rewrite large amounts of assets I was using just for Windows 8 and the unusable performance that I started this post about.

With all these things considered, I figguered is just wasn’t worth bothering with Windows Phone, or the Windows App Store considering their lack of usage / popularity any way.

bah. stupid necro bumpers… didnt even notice…

I recently did some WP8 dev (hardkour) and found it fine. Granted I personally think Windows 8 is a POS and my least favourite device OS , I didnt have any problems, with the exception of the odd missing API.
