Perhaps think about expanding your shop from JUST paypal?

Just thought I’d post that whilst trying to pay for unity pro, paypal always gets funny for items priced more than a few hundred pounds.

I have to now VERIFY my account, set up a direct debit, (and probably lots more things to come) just to be able to purchase UNITY.

I dont mean to complain, but it is quite off-putting if you are a consumer. Paypal is fine for cheap items, but is awfully painful when it comes to these kind of amounts of money.

Thanks for pointing this out. We’re looking into switching though it may take some time to happen.

If anyone has a problem with PayPal, feel free to mail me at david@otee.dk, and I’ll try to help out.

Melligeorgiou, I note that you live in London. Which currency did you pay in and did you purchase it with United Kingdom as the country?
I assume you chose Euros as not only are they a nearer country but according to the set prices of Unity plus the exchange rates means that it is very slightly cheaper to buy if you’re paying with Pound Sterling.

What I wonder is did you pay the 25% VAT? The highest anyone can charge for VAT in the United Kingdom is 17.5% and the 25% is the main reason for me not to purchase Unity as it stands.

Just for the record, EU law requires us to collect local (Danish) VAT from private users. Which is 25%.

Of course we pay it straight to the government, so not much fun we get out of it.

Well I was just about to buy unity pro… but I’m not sure now… I live in the UK so I should only pay 20%. what is the difference for me paying in euros or dollars? being that I’m in the UK which uses sterling ?

Thanks

Nice 5 1/2 year thread necro…

hahaah yea i didn’t notice how old this thread was until i posted… oops anyway thanks dreamora for the info. I’m going to hold off buying unity for now. I’m considering purchasing Shiva. I need to do some testing to see who really is the better engine. Well now that I have more screens, shiva might be the better option lol
