Hi, I am a new in using Unity Personal(free edition), can i publish my android app/game to google play with this free version of unity??? thanks

These kinds of questions are all answered pretty well on the various product pages.

Ok, thanks Man

but, how they know about user’s fical per year? is we should report our fiscal to unity?

That is your responsibility to buy the pro license when you make that much. If you don’t, you risk being taken to court if they find out. But really, if you’re making that much, the cost of Pro is a drop in the bucket.

The latest version of the editor asks you to confirm your income from the previous financial year when you activate a personal license.

There is also the actual games you make. Games made with personal include the Unity Personal splash screen. And the assets are tagged with the Personal edition. Which means it’s fairly easy to spot a game which has made more then the revenue cap without paying for a license.

Let’s not forget the analytics for the editor and the game itself. Wouldn’t surprise me if they were involved in the process.

Yeah, Unity probably knows more about the people that play my game then I do.

All that said, I haven’t actually heard of any cases where Unity has actually prosecuted someone for using the wrong license. So this either means we are all being honest, or Unity thinks suing customers is a bad idea.

Are there any games making that much that show the Unity Personal splash screen? I would guess anyone who has a game of that quality is probably already using Pro just to eliminate that screen.

If you make 100k a year, why would you be dumb enough not to pay a few bucks for a license. When you have money, you keep hold of it by being legit, you find you will do legit things automatically just to be secure and safe.

Unity does not go around testing or checking. They don’t need to because businesses in the position of requiring licenses tend to license just in case of annoyed staff member reporting them etc… it is just common sense.

Unity has a legal team which will act if they have to. But if you are under 100k which you are, you do not need to prove anything ahead of time.

Don’t worry about proof if under 100k, it is a strange thing that just is mostly automatic at these scales. UE4 uses royalties and does require proof and does police it, as the royalty model requires it to be effective.

I’m not aware of any with the Unity Personal splash screen, but The Long Dark does show the logo in its opening video.

If Unity wants people to use their logo voluntarily they’ll have to try a little bit harder to woo the good ones  /offtopic

I mean the forced Unity Personal logo. I don’t think you can make it look like that and have it overlay your game? But I admittedly haven’t looked at it much since they added the customization features.

ok thanks man:sunglasses:
