Perspective GUI

Hi everyone !

Please allow me to introduce myself, i’m Nicolas, student from a videogames school, from France.

We’re currently working on a project using Unity Engine, and I’m having some trouble with GUI.

This (so-called :P) amazing team asked me to develop a perspective GUI, with buttons looking a bit like this :

Question is, is that possible in any way ?
I read Unity’s tutorial for GUI, but didn’t found anything related.

Does someone have a clue on how to do this?

Thanks for advance,
Regards,

Nicolas

3D gui requires (optimally uses) that you use real 3D and use raypicks to detect the interaction against them.

Unitys gui is camera orthonormal (“billboard”)

Ok, thanks for that.

Another information that I would need is to know if there is, in any way, a possibility to create custom Buttons’ shape in GUI plan ?

If I show up custom pictures, how should i make them buttons, with custom click area ?

If I’m not clear enough, please tell me… Still in the morning here.

You can pass a texture to GUI.Button to set the button image, but you can’t control the shape of the clickable area (so that you can have circular buttons packed close together, say). You would need to construct this yourself by getting mouse clicks and positions, checking the clicked area, animating the button presses, etc.
