I want to share the first prototype about this personal project. I used Google SketchUp and 3ds max in order to optimized the mesh and so. Many of our WIPs remains in our HDs or Hostings, I share with you and encourage you to show your WIPs
Basically the flow was:
Google Earthโ>Google SketchUp (I used it to export to a more universal format of a 3D editor)โ>3dsMax (Optimize the mesh, and fix some vertices that were not recognized by the game engine) โ Unity
With 3dsMax, I used Photoshop to create new textures for models. The entire stadium was divided into blocks and exported (*.fbx), with this I made sure that each block was well known for Unity.
