Are the 3d tools in Photoshop CS5 Extend worth the extra $300 over the regular Photoshop? Are there any other features in extended that make it worth the extra $300 for game developers? I am just trying to find out the difference between the two as I am starting to try to get into the art aspect of game development and there are really no good comparison charts of each fo there features that I can find.

You can actually animate. You know Flash? Photoshop is now Flash without the programming engine. You can animate in it! Also, you can import your models, and actually paint on them!

No. Photoshop does not have tweening and support for vectors outside of layer masks. I’d like the 3D to be a replacement for BodyPaint / Zbrush, but it’s not. I found it to be pretty useless.
