Physic material

Hi all,

I’m new to Unity; but loving it :-)))
Lots to learn, and lots to confuse :-)))

Anyway; just wondering : I stumbled across ‘physics material’ - I understand what this does but wonder if there are any ‘standard’ values for definitions?

i.e. a ‘standard’ setting for steel , or ice, or wood etc. etc.

Or is it simply trial and error??

Appreciate any help

Thanks

hi markhula,

I think there are no “standards” cause theres even no standard for ice, wood, … cause in real life there are also many factors that change the behaviour.

Also physical material != ice, its just a material that clones the effect of ice, but didnt have the same behaviour as ice.
I recommend you to use try and error, cause there are not many parameters you can change.

Sorry for this lame description, english isnt my native tongue.

Hi,

Thanks for the info. I just assumed there were some basic parameters that everyone used for basic material settings.
But no problem!

Thanks
