Physics anomaly and question

I’m wondering if anyone has encountered this issue or can explain why it happens.

I have two rigidbodied cubes, both using the same prefab. The dimensions are exactly the same, 50x50x50. I am instantiating them exactly next to eachother, one 50 px away from the other. The only difference between the blocks is that one has a constant force of -200, and one has a constant force of 200. Gravity is turned off.

As expected, these blocks just float, both forces equaling out and the cubes remaining stationary as they push against eachother. The issue is that after a few seconds, one block begins to move enough to slide and the blocks spin out, and fall to their respective directions.

There shouldn’t be any other forces acting on the boxes, so why do they begin to spin?

The reason for this is probably just inaccuracies in the physics system. Generally, the physics works best with rigidbody objects that are a few units in size. Very small objects (less than about 0.5 units) and very large ones (tens of units) can be difficult to handle in some situations.
