physics line renderer?

Hello. When using the unity Line renderer component, is there a way to make the line a physical object (so it can be used as a wall in a 2D game)? Thanks

You can add as many box colliders as you need. They just won't be automatically sized appropriately, as with a Mesh Filter.

Describe how could that be useful in "2D", though, and we can give you more information. A plane perpendicular to the camera doesn't need rendering, because you can't see it. A plane parallel with the clip planes of the camera don't need a collider, because you can't move in and out of the "screen".
