Physics problem with air hockey-like game and abacus

Hello everyone!

The project I am working on a multiplatform educational app that consists of an air hockey-like shapes and abacus, but somehow the shapes and abacus balls don’t behave like they should.

Somehow the physics engine in Unity (assuming I’m doing it right) is not working correctly. Ideally the shapes would work like the following project::: http://robertsolero.altervista.org/airHockey/airHockey2.html.

My air hockey-like scene doesn’t have a puck, it is supposed to be finger-driven and the goal is still being worked on.

Would you please give me an idea of what I’m doing wrong and how to solve this physics issue?

Similarly I am working on an abacus in which the balls have weird physics.

Any help would be appreciated.

EXPLANATION:::
What happens is that shapes do not move smoothly, like air-hcokey. In Numbers the abacus balls that load when pressing a number sometimes go rogue. When pressed to the edges, they disappear off the screen. Similarly a ball could easily occupy the same space another one is using, by forcing them to the sides.

I’ll see if I can look at this this week. I have an event I’m attending Th Fr, so no promises, but I’ll try to look - perhaps on the train.

That’ll be great!

As a side note I went to Siggraph and met Carl, forgot his last name :frowning:

Thanks!
