Pillars Of Time - Adventure RPG - WIP

" Pillars Of Time " is an open world fantasy ARPG. I have only been working on the game for around a month so please bare with me for the lack of gameplay footage at the start of this post. I will update this on a regular basic and expect a combat demo within the next couple of days although it will only be the basics at this point.

Below is a screenshot of the kind of atmosphere I am trying to achieve although it is nowhere near finished yet. The image came out slightly darker than in game but as I continue with the lighting hopefully you will get a better idea of what I am aiming for. The image is from a Mystical Forest located in the dark lands of the world.

The game will take you on a journey through many historical and mythical locations whilst you search for the “Lost Paradise”. Beware though as “One mans paradise is another mans hell”, your choices during the game will determine where you belong in the world of good and evil.

I will be adding more to the list but these are the things I will be working on first, some are already in motion so expect videos and plenty more screenshots very soon!!!

How wide will the periods of time be? (2 years, decade, etc.)

If that is Micahel O’s tropical map. I dont see how that enviornment would fit with your game…

That shot is actually part of Michael O’s tropical map. It will not actually be in the game as it is only being used as a prototype for mood and general layout. Once I am further down the line and have the core of the game built in terms of scripting I will then start creating my own graphical assets to use although Michael O’s assets are worthy of being in any game without a doubt.

As for it not fitting within the game… The game is set in the real world, across multiple periods in time. One particular time period will be using a tropical landscape for its setting. This is something I will speak more about when I release the story details.

@landon91235 - Although I do not want to give away too much right now as some parts may change whilst in development, I am aiming at the earliest period being around 9000 years ago and ending around the present. As I said this may change as I could easily implement the age of Dino’s into the story but not sure how many people would enjoy that.
