Pin Input with Spaceindicators

My friends and I want to make Matrix looking Pin Interface. We allready got the Matrixbackground, but we need these indicators that you often see on Keypads, where you have a 4-digit Code and every digit is indicated by a box or an underscore or something similar. The problem is, that we don’t know, how to “animate” these indicators, so that they disappear digit by digit.
Does anyone has an idea what to do? I didn’t found anything helpfull in the tutorial tab or on Youtube.

So I got myself an other solution for the pin, but now cant see any text. I’m creating it manually on an empty object, because i can’t stand this canvas shit. does anyone has an idea, what additional options need to be included for the text to show off?
