EDIT 2: Looks like it’s working now. I deleted and reinstalled the tutorial project (as I have done about 5 times now) and all of a sudden it just opened up properly. Whatever…
EDIT: If I click on the “ground” item in the starter scene, and look in the inspector under materials, it says “Element 0: missing (Material)” in the drop down. This is in the freshly downloaded tutorial project, so I literally have no idea what is going on. Are my shaders broken? Is the project missing some materials? Any help at all here would be greatly appreciated.
I’ve just downloaded and installed Unity, followed the instructions etc. and I’m in the “Explore the Editor Interface” (3/10) section, and the starter room is pink.
Prior to posting here, I’ve googled around and apparently I need to “convert selected built-in materials to URP”, but it doesn’t appear to do anything.
I’ve deleted (and reinstalled) the “Essentials Project” multiple times, selected various different editor versions from the hub (6000.0.38f1 and 6000.0.16f1) and nothing seems to work.
Any pointers would be greatly appreciated, as I’m pretty much dead in the water here, and I haven’t even really done anything yet.
If it’s relevant, my system is Windows 11, Radeon 6900XT GPU, AMD 5800X3D CPU, 32GB RAM, Unity is installed on a 1 TB NVME drive (C:) and the tutorial “essentials project” is installed on a 1TB SSD (D:)
I already have Visual Studio 2022 Enterprise edition installed, so I don’t think the Unity installer added the Community Edition.
