Pirating 3rd Party software

So, one of my friend is currently making a game with unity, and his art assets are all imported from photoshop that is pirated. He’s planning on to sell his game on google play store. Is there any severe problem about that despite morality??? Should I tell him to stop pirating?

Yes, you your friend should stop pirating. If you can’t afford Photoshop, you can use free software such as Gimp. I’m not going to say much if you use a pirated copy to mess around with stuff for your own use, but as soon as you’re using it to go commercial, you really need to pay for it.

Photoshop licenses don’t cost different amounts for people who make different amounts of money with it. There’s no clear answer.

What is it about people asking for their “friends” about pirated software, lately?

No - stealing is bad and despite that nobody should do it it is also illegal and can get you, your friend or anyone else who does it into trouble. Publishing anything created on stolen software significantly increases the risk on top of that because metadata. Also karma. So: No, no, nope, noooo na-uh. Nope.

There is so much useful free software out there I didn’t have access to when I started out and would have loved to have. Use it!

PhotoshopCC has a 30 day free trial from their website, after that it is available for full licensing for $29 per month.
My question is, did your friend ever even check the adobe store before he thought the pirate copy was a better deal?

Many software groups now offer a monthly alternative for license purchase.
