Hey everyone! I made something I thought was interesting and thought I’d share it. I’ve been working with pixel art, and had this idea for a 3D pixelated effect.

Awesome! Now all we need is a 2D Link, Paper Mario-style! ![]()
I love this idea.
Love it.

This is gorgeous Mike, I just love pixel art and this sort of “3D pixel art” effects. Could you elaborate a bit on how you did it?

Brilliant idea!
I’m new to Unity3D but I spent a lot of free time in the 1990s using DPaint (for Pixel Art type sprites and things) so seeing something like this is very inspirational
Looking forward to seeing the progress on this concept ![]()
The next step would be to make something like this.
It’s like retro, classic, epic…
Congrats
And that 3D Dot game looks amazing too.
Cool! ![]()
Very awesome! Loving the look of the 3d pixels.
I just saw 3D Dot Game Heroes for the first time today and then this.
So far I like what you’ve done here a bit better. The minimalist approach with less busy junk seems more interesting.
Problem is that I’m not sure how to accomplish it without the black outlines that sort of complicate the imagery in the 3DDGH. It works great with the fire because it’s supposed to all mix together ambiguously. For other objects, I wonder.
Anyway, looks great. I want to see more. ![]()
very retro love it ![]()
