Pixel light

Hi,
Just some general discussion on pixel lights.
So is it that u use pixel lights for better quality since operation is performed per pixel rather than per vertex and thats y the name pixel light i suppose.

Do we have some way of specifying in unity if a light source is vertex or pixel light.i read something in the attenuation section which hinted this.

On each light you can define if it is vertex, pixel or auto
default setting is auto and uses the Visual Quality settings you can configure.

Did u mean the rendering mode option in unity gui?

Also is could you explain the reason for selecting the pixelornone,vertex,pixel 3 pass approach as mentioned in the unity manual?
