Somehow in migrating from Collab to Plastic SCM most of the project has dissapeared.
Each person that updates their workspace looses about 70% of the directories, and it is different for each person what they will lose.
One person still has the entire project, but can’t push their project without resolving conflicts.
How can we either:
Ignore all conflicts and forcibly push all his project to the group?
Create a new Plastic SCM branch and push his project to that, then get the team on that branch?
Fix this mysterious issue.
Looking back, we can’t find anywhere in history where things were deleted. History appears to only have 2-3 of the 8-10 folders from the project ever recorded in the project history even though this project had been successfully working over Collab for at least 2 months before the “upgrade” last week to Plastic SCM.
Hello @bdilloughery_mvla , first of all sorry if the migration has caused trouble for you and your team.
Second, we are here to help and try to revert the situation. We will do our best to allow you start working with Plastic in a better.
I have a lot of questions and comments. Let’s go.
This is connected to the second solution you proposed “2. Create a new Plastic SCM branch and push his project to that, then get the team on that branch?”. Using that person computer, you can create a new Plastic SCM workspace working with the migrated repository. Create a child branch. Remove all the Plastic workspace content from disk and paste the copy the user keeps. The pending changes view in Plastic GUI will be able to find all the changes, you just need to run a checkin operation to start a first version to continue working.
Ok, I initially don’t understand why the issue happened in the first place. I would like to know if something during the migration failed. As I don’t want you to expose personal data such us Collab organization name and emails please send us an email to support at plasticscm dot com. Reference this forum thread and we will check the details.
So, the directories are also missing from the Collab history too?
