Hey
So I get this issue when launching my project with Plastic SCM- it loads just a little bit of the interface and the scene then just freezes in place and I can’t interact with anything. When I’ve not launched Plastic SCM or my project in a while, usually I get this problem. When I launch Plastic SCM now, it just says ‘The remote host closed the socket’, so that doesn’t help me.
The first time I had the problem, I had moved my PC and got a new IP address. I vaguely recall fixing it by inputting a ‘Safe IP address’ for the project to sync to in Unity Cloud or Unity ID.
Anyway, I came back from a trip few days ago and plugged my pc and router back in, I can’t get further than this.
Any advice?
Could you attach the client logs at:
C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Local\plastic4\logs
It normally means that your Plastic local server is not running. Could you try to start it via the Windows services panel?
Would that be just these latest 6 logs?
Also it seems to be running, if I’m in the right place.
unityplastic.relevant.log.txt (688.2 KB)
plasticx.debug.log.txt (5.5 MB)
gluonx.debug.log.txt (2.5 MB)
gluonx.relevant.log.txt (439.6 KB)
unityplastic.debug.log.txt (1.3 MB)
Final log file since I couldn’t attach more to one reply
plasticx.relevant.log.txt (835.1 KB)
I figured it out. Took me a few days to remember this page exists
So the reason I couldn’t get into my project was that my IP address changed as I disconnected my router and I had specific IPs set in the Network Allow List. I believe one IP was already set from the get go when I started the project, meaning I couldn’t log on from my new IP.
The error message ‘The remote host closed the socket’ is not very helpful, but at least I have this thread here now to remind me that if this happens again, I need to go sort out the IP address.
Also I have to ask if it’s a big security problem if I leave the Network Allow List blank?
Hi, thanks for the update…
It shouldn’t be a problem. Only the users you invited ton the UVCS org will be able to access your repositories.
